Coinsafe Australia began in March 2017, not as a business idea, but out of necessity. Like many early Bitcoin users, we needed a proven, secure way to protect our own Bitcoin — yet there were no trusted hardware wallet options available locally. We understood Bitcoin was solving real-world problems and would only continue to grow. If we needed secure storage here in Australia, others surely did too. From that simple realisation, Coinsafe Australia was born.
At the time, various hardware wallet manufacturers had begun emerging, but only Trezor stood apart. It was the only wallet that was open-source, transparent, independently audited, and widely scrutinised by security experts and the global community.
